Tom Holland is best known for his role as Spider-Man in the Marvel Universe
Tom Holland, best known for his role as Spider-Man/Peter Parker in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, is an English actor and dancer born in London on June 1, 1996, and has an estimated net worth of $18 million.
Holland’s first appearance in a Marvel film (Captain America: Civil War) earned him $250,000 before raking in half a million for “Spiderman: Homecoming,” adding up to $1.5 million with bonuses. He would eventually earn $3 million for appearing in “Avengers: Endgame,” but now has a base salary of at least $4 million for a single film appearance.
Holland, who is the oldest of four brothers, is the son of Dominic and Nicola Holland. He attended The BRIT School for Performing Arts and Technology in Croydon, but he first began to dance hip-hop in Wimbledon at Nifty Feet Dance School.
Choreographer Lynne Page, an associate to “Billy Elliott the Musical” choreographer Peter Darling, first discovered Holland at the 2006 Richmond Dance Festival, where he performed with his dance school. Two years later, Holland debuted in “Billy Elliot the Musical” as Billy’s best friend Michael, receiving his first positive feedback.
He made his television debut in 2009, and a couple of years later, transitioned to film, garnering critical acclaim for his role on “The Impossible,” where he appeared alongside Naomi Watts. Holland followed that award-winning performance with a few other film appearances before finally landing the role as Spider-Man in 2015.
Holland earned a Guinness Book of World Records record title for becoming the youngest actor to play a lead role in the MCU. In 2017, Holland won the BAFTA Rising Star Award at the 70th British Academy Film Awards, becoming the second-youngest winner of the award at 20 years of age.
Holland’s latest MCU film, “Spider-Man: No Way Home,” scored the second-best US box office opening day of all time with $121 million, and he will likely be taking a break from acting after this year. His movie “Uncharted,” where he plays the lead role of Nathan Drake alongside co-star, Mark Wahlberg, and veteran actor Antonio Banderas, just released in theatres.
